SIC (US 1987) : Welcome to Appalachian Campground, one of North Georgia’s hidden gems. People travel from as far as Nevada to New Jersey to come to our Campground. We primarily cater to families, RV Campers, retirees, and are also motorcycle friendly. People are always surprised to see how nice and clean our Cabins are kept and how personable our staff are.
Nestled in Moody Hollow and sitting next to the headwaters of the Hiawassee River, these cabins offer a great getaway. Guests find a special solitude not found in other campgrounds. Although we have a limited number of sites they are all very spacious. With 20 campsites, 15 of which are on the river, it allows for a more private camping experience. Some campers have found it so desirable; they've stayed for 6 years!
10 minutes from Hiawassee and 15 Minutes from Helen, you're close to a variety of restaurants, quaint shops, grocery stores, beautiful Lake Chatuge, 6 new movie theaters and Funworld for the kids. Campers enjoy being minutes from High Shoals Falls, the Appalachian Trail and Brasstown Bald, the highest point in Georgia.
